Appointments & Corona Virus
With the Coronavirus pandemic, you may wish to alter your appointment. This may be done in the following ways:
Cancel and rebook at a later date: If you are attending a non-urgent yearly check-up then this may be an appropriate option, particularly if you are considered to be at higher risk with the virus.
Consider a Telehealth appointment: This means an appointment where you stay at home and are contacted via Skype or Face Time. The Government has introduced Medicare item numbers so this can be considered. It may be appropriate for individuals where a full detailed skin examination is not so important, for example, an Eczema or Psoriasis follow up. Those that qualify for a Telehealth appointment include:
Age over 70
Those at higher risk including individuals with lung disease or diabetes, and those taking immunosuppressive medications
Resent overseas travel
Recent potential exposure to Coronavirus contact.
Attend your appointment following all appropriate hygiene precautions, including:
Washing hands thoroughly/using hand gels
Hygiene around coughing
Do not bring unnecessary extra people to the appointment if possible, such as siblings or parents
Bring your own entertainment for children in the waiting room.
For the benefit of the general public we are in a situation where any staff member at our practice is instructed to stay home if any cold/flu symptoms are present. Therefore please excuse us if this means that your appointment is moved or cancelled.
Please contact us on (03) 9817 2422 or email info@brdermatology.com.au with any questions regarding this.
